The Albuquerque Isotopes

Isotopes Park opened in 2003 on the site of the old Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The original ballpark was "state of the art" when it opened in 1969. By the end of the century the place had fallen into disrepair to the extent that the Pacific Coast League declared it unfit for AAA ball...

...so the Dukes relocated to Portland, leaving Albuquerque without professional baseball for two long summers. A terrific new ballpark is now the home of the Simpsons-inspired Isotopes, who also play in the PCL. These pictures are from a game against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
